Founded in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Day Dreaming Organization Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to mentoring and empowering youth through education, arts, sports, and civic engagement. We believe that every child deserves a chance to dream boldly and access opportunities that lead to lifelong success.

Executive Director

Samuel Rosario

Born in Nagua, María Trinidad Sánchez Province, on February 13, 1980, [Name] is the seventh of nine children of Diego Rosario Mercedes and Juana Castillo Gerónimo. He completed his studies at Eduvigis Bravo Castillo Primary School and Baoba del Piñal Secondary School before moving to San Cristóbal in 1999 to pursue baseball training under Santiago Villalona in the Juan Marichal Program. After years of dedication, he achieved his dream in 2002 with the support of Ing. Francisco Reyes Rojas, signing with the Chicago Cubs organization. His professional career began in 2003 in the minor leagues with the Cubs and continued with teams such as the Calgary Vipers (2005–2006), Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings (2007), Nashua Pride and York Revolution (2008), concluding his career that same year with the Águilas Cibaeñas in the Dominican Republic.

Christina Herrera

Cristina was born and raised in Lawrence, MA, and is a proud first-generation college graduate raised by a single mother. She earned her Licensed Practical Nurse certification from Northern Essex Community College in 2016, followed by an Associate Degree in Nursing from North Shore Community College in 2020, becoming a Registered Nurse. For the past five years, Cristina has served at the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center, where she finds fulfillment in giving back to her community. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree at Southern New Hampshire University while balancing her roles as a dedicated nurse, student, and mother to her three-year-old daughter, Kylie, with whom she cherishes spending her free time.

Board Member

Don Martelli

Don Martelli is a former print journalist for the Boston Globe and is currently the President and Partner with the Belfort Group (BG), an integrated digital marketing and public relations agency located in Boston, MA. BG specializes in working with non-profit organizations to develop and implement integrated marketing and public relations campaigns that build brand awareness, influence fundraising and position organizations for growth. As a member of the Day Dreaming Board of Directors, Don will draw upon his work with non-profit clients to assist the organization in fundraising and influencer relations as well as areas of marketing and communications. Don serves on a variety of Day Dreaming board committees, with a keen focus on supporting growth initiatives.
